My original Natures Gems Organics product range and recipes, were born out of a love for herbs, plants, and all things natural and also out of a need to provide totally natural skin care for my family.

In the mid 1990's, I experienced an unusual allergic reaction to something unknown and my face puffed up like a balloon.. it was red, itchy and pimply like. I was prescribed by my medical practitioner, both topical and oral steroids for the inflammation and allergy, however after suffering the unpleasant side effects of steroids, I came to the conclusion I wanted to handle my skin recovery in a more natural way. ​
I researched aromatherapy, essential oils and plant oils extensively, and made up my own formulation, which slowly... but surely, cleared up the pimply red mess on my face, and restored my skin to a healthy glow.

I created gentle baby products, with genuine care for my baby's skin and soon after, for my own adult skin too.

Then, towards the late 1990’s, as I was ready to give birth to my first beautiful new baby, I realised I could find nothing at that time, which was totally natural, that I could use on my baby’s delicate skin.
